Assistance Program

Overview & Guidlines:

The assistance program is intended to provide financial aid to candidates under 21 years of age so that theycan participate in shag dance related events. Examples of types of assistance available include contest entry fees, gas & food vouchers, lodging, and more.

General Request Requirements:

1) under 21 years of age
2) parent or guardian approval
3) sponsor for application
4) submitted in advance of event

The Foundation reserves the right to refuse to provide aid if:

1) application does not meet general requirements
2) event is not primarily a shag dance event
3) Foundation annual giving budget exhausted

In sum, the Foundation would like to help financially when possible if there is a young person interested in learning, participating in, or promoting the shag.
