Background:

The Ellen Taylor Foundation for Junior Shaggers ("ETFJS") was founded in 2007 by Mrs. Ellen Taylor and incorporated as a SC 501-3(c) organization in 2008. The purpose of the ETFJS is to remove financial barriers that prevent those under 21 from learning and participating in the shag dance. Examples of this include providing free dance shoes, funding workshops, and providing meal, lodging, and gas vouchers for shag dance events such as Junior SOS at North Myrtle Beach.

The ETFJS thanks you for your interest and support. Donations are now being accepted. Donations to the ETFJS should be considered tax-deductible for individuals and corporations and should be eligible for matching gifts by employees of some corporations. All donations are subject to State & Federal tax rules and the ETFJS encourages donors to seek independent tax advice.

Please click on the links above if you are interested in making a donation or interested in nominating a junior dancer for assistance.

Thank you Kyle Sellars and Logan Gable for your donation to the Foundation for Junior Shaggers.

During a workshop for the First Coast Shag club in Jacksonville, Florida Saturday, July 31, 2010, Kyle Sellars and Logan Gable was asked to dance in an exhibition. While they danced, monies were thrown on the floor for these two talented and very special young juniors. Before the evening was over, Kyle approached me and handed me the money that had been collected and said they wanted to donate it to the Foundation to help other juniors. I cannot tell you how very touched I was that your thought was not for what you could do with this money for yourselves, but your desire to do something for someone else. You are a great asset to our Junior Shaggers Association and I know your parents are very proud of the decision you made to use this money for others.

Thank you from all of the Board Members, Executive Officers, Committee Chairpersons, and everyone associated with the foundation for your desire to help other juniors.

With Much Love for both of you,

Mrs. Ellen
